Little Mozart

He has discovered that he can make music on the piano.

I think he's actually doing a pretty good job, he's not pounding away or making a racket. But, maybe it's because he can't really reach that well! Ha!

Beach Fun

We went to the beach for the first time this summer.

Gavin LOVED it! He went straight for the water, even before I had him ready to get in. Then he wanted to SWIM in it like we do in the pool. He is going to be my little fish.

Please excuse my camera strap, again. It's been misbehaving this week. Maybe I'll have to beat it into submission, hahahaha.

I've got my jugs right here!

In a trance watching Elmo on Sesame Street for the first time.

Backyard Fun

We had fun in the backyard earlier this week.

Gavin played on his new slide from his aunt Natalie, uncle Richard and his cousins. Thanks everyone!

I tried to have him go down and I would catch him, but he got a little scared. He seemed okay with it if I had a hold of his hands, though.

He tried to climb! Sorry about the camera strap...I need to pay better attention!

Watch out! Gavin's driving!

Doing the bear crawl. I expect him to just stand up one of these days and take off walking (or maybe even running!)

Had fun making a short movie with a few short clips that I took in a row.

I'm learning so much these days!

Daddy taught Gavin how to put the balls in his gumball machine and now he can do it himself!

Our Little Monkey

We thought that pictures of this one weren't appropriate...we think you'll understand why.

Friday night it was a hot night, so we let Gavin sleep in just his diaper. On Saturday morning we woke up to the sound of Gavin in his crib. Just like any other day, we let him stay in his crib for a little while, not thinking anything of it. When Philip got up to get him, I heard, "Oh, no!" He wanted me to come look. Gavin had taken off his poopy diaper and was standing holding on to the side of the crib. There was poop all on his bum, blanket, sheet, and even dried on one of his feet. The best part was that there was a puddle in front of the crib. Philip says that he can picture Gavin, triumphant in the feat of removing his own diaper, watching himself pee through the bars out onto the wood floor! How do you like that one?!

PB & J

Today I thought we'd try peanut butter and jelly again. He ate it! Yay! Yet another triumph in the eating world!

Oooh!

Daddy giving Gavin a taste of Cream Soda! He LOVED it! (Even if Gavin drinks soda every time we have it, it will probably only be three or four times a year, tops! We're big water and milk drinkers with the occasional juice, but rarely soda.)

Swimming Again

Seems like it's going to be a hot summer!

Working Out!

Gavin is so cute now, he likes to do what we're doing. It may be hard to tell, but in the background the people on the video are doing what he is doing.

Cool Dude

Gavin in his sunglasses that Aunt Jessica bought him last summer.

In Dad's big sunglasses.

Cooking with Daddy

Lounging in the chair...

...the high chair that is!

Not proper manners, but for now we'll let it slide...

Never ask Daddy to buy swim diapers...

I just like to razz him about buying Dora the Explorer swim diapers. Dora herself wouldn't be so bad, but they have big flowers on them and they are PINK. Most of the time we have trunks over them, so they're not a big deal, but when we're not swimming out in public, we don't bother with the trunks.

Having fun in the pool with Daddy!

This is a good shot of the big flowers on his tush.

Milk...

...it does a body good!

I'm drinking COLD COW'S MILK from a SIPPY CUP! Yay!

Why can't I be with you 24/7?!

Gavin says, "I want to be in there with you!!!"

Ride 'em Cowboy!

Not entirely happy that Gavin has discovered he can climb onto the furniture now...

Around We Go!

My friend came over so we could do a workout video together and her little boy tried out Gavin's jumper. Gavin thought it was great fun to spin him around.

Fruit Flick

I finally got Gavin to try eating the freeze dried fruit from Geber, (he doesn't like squishy things, so it's perfect for him and cleaner), but then today he discovered how to do this. I don't know if he'll be doing it all of the time, or if he'll actually it again. The video is kind of long(1 minute, 57 seconds), so be warned, but I think it's cute... he was cracking himself up. Also, please excuse my sniffling, I'm getting over a cold.

Driving

On Monday I watched a couple of Gavin's cousins while their Mom went down to her work to get some stuff done. While we were playing outside, Gavin loved the cars. He loves wheels in any way, shape, or form. Also in the video is Gavin's cousin, Nathan. I thought that he was going to try to get in the car with him, but he was just being a good helper by putting Gavin's leg in the car and closing the door for him. So cute!

Swordsman

He'll be an expert two hand swordsman one of these days.

Another Step Towards Walking!

Gavin used me as a means to get his balance and stand on his own!

Sorry that this video is sideways, I don't know how to turn it, if you do, please let me know how!

Nightmare "Vacation"

Every year Philip's company has a retreat where the company pays for really nice hotel rooms at a resort and spa for all of its employees so everyone can hang out at the pool, golf, get spa treatments, pretty much just relax and have fun. Last year we didn't get to go because Gavin was only two weeks old. This year, we thought it'd be fun to go and hang out in the pool with Gavin and get to show him off. Heh--yeah, didn't work out...

We got off to a MUCH later start that we had anticipated, so we stopped at Target to get some food for Gavin and fed it to him in the car. By the time we got to the hotel it was 9:00 pm, an hour and a half after Gavin's bedtime. We fed him some cereal and I nursed him, then put him down in his pack and play. He started crying. I let him out for a bit, then put him back. Crying more, for 20 minutes straight while Philip went out to pick us up some food. Philip came back and I was laying on the couch with Gavin to try to "sleep" with him with no luck.

It was getting later and later, so we didn't want to let Gavin scream and get kicked out of the hotel, so we decided to let him play, figuring he'd crash, right? Ha--not a chance! I even tried getting in the pack and play with Gavin, hoping he'd like it better if I was there! By 11:00 pm Gavin was STILL AWAKE! So, Philip went to the car and got the stroller. He rocked him in that and he finally fell asleep by 11:30 pm.

We were exhausted from trying to get Gavin to fall asleep, so we got in bed right away, and fell asleep. I was awakened by crying... I glanced at the clock and thought it was 2:30 am. I got Gavin out of the stroller and tried nursing, he bit me! He was wailing pretty bad. Philip woke up and looked at the clock and said, oh, it's only been an hour. I looked and sure enough, it was only 12:30 am. If this was the way the rest of the night was going to go, I said FORGET IT!!! We checked out at 1:00 am, (with the hotel staff offering us another room, oh, like that was the problem!) We arrived home at 3:00 am, Gavin slept maybe half of the way home. So, by 3:00 am, he'd only had about TWO HOURS of sleep! He hit his own mattress with what only can be described as relief!! If he could only talk, I think he would have said, "Oh, my bed!"

He then slept until 6:00 am, I nursed him, and then he slept until 9:00 am. After that he took naps at 11:00 until 1:00 and 3:00 until 4:00. We tried putting him to bed at 7:00, thinking he'd really need the extra sleep, but no, he cried for about an hour and a half, we went in there to check on him once, but nothing seemed wrong... he was just really messed up!

I look a little freaky... it was 11:30 pm and Gavin had finally fallen asleep in the stroller, but not for long...

Look what I can do!!!!

Gavin has been walking with his walker for about a week and a half, but I have been really slow about posting for a while. Still cute though, of course!

I see you...
