Happy Thanksgiving!

It was Gavin's second Thanksgiving, so he could eat real food this year! He ate ham, stuffing, bread, and maybe even a couple of bites of turkey. We were fortunate enough to be able to go over to three different homes of friends and family this year! We did breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Thanks and we love you all!

Last Days with Matthew

Matthew had been at our house during the day for three months now, so last Wednesday was his last day with us. It will be nice to have just Gavin again because Matthew has shown me how much work it is to have two children. We'll miss not having him around, though, I'm sure.

Here is a picture from the other day when Gavin woke up from a nap and Matthew had already been up with me. I put Matthew in the crib with him, but for some reason Gavin was sobbing. It didn't seem to bother Matthew though. He decided to take advantage of the situation and explore Gavin's crib.

The Zipper Man

You know how I mentioned that Gavin can do zippers now? Well, for some reason at size 2t Carter's stops putting the snap at the top of the blanket sleeper's zipper so I knew the day would come when we'd find him naked in his crib. At least the diaper was still intact!

Sandwich Theif!

I gave Matthew his bottle one day last week and much to my surprise he guzzled it down! So, I left my sandwich unprotected on the table so that I could get Matthew's food ready and Gavin stole it and took a big bite out of it! He hadn't even finished his sandwich which you can see sitting on the plate! (Like my heel sandwich? Hehehe.)

Multitasking

Gavin now has the phone in one hand and will do stuff with the other. Wonder where he gets it...hehehehe.

Gavin has started testing his limits, of course. He loves to sit on the cat pedestal that his Daddy made, (which we allowed for a little while) but then he started flopping on the couch and doing other things, so I don't want him doing it anymore.

I want to be like Daddy!

As all of you know who are around kids a lot, they are great imitators at Gavin's age. Daddy was playing Guitar Hero and Gavin grabbed one of the Wii accessories (even though it was for a different game, he didn't care).

Elvis Boy

Gavin has discovered that he can work zippers and so for a while he was insisting on unzipping his pajamas about three inches and showing off his manly chest!

Computer Game with Daddy

Gavin is attracted to the computer like a fish to water! (A fish can't live without water like I'm sure Gavin will think when he's older that he couldn't possibly live without a computer, even though it has been done for thousands of years.) He is also able to do things on the computer that we don't even know how he did them! So this time Daddy pulled up a Fisher Price online game for Gavin to try out. He seemed to like it! It would do something different for each key you pushed on the keyboard.

Mr. Bear's Wild Ride

Gavin was given a bear by a lady at church who makes beautiful dolls and stuffed animals. He's finally starting to pay attention to it! It was so cute, he insisted on getting the bear from his crib and he was swinging it around! He still likes to take this bear and his other bear out of the crib, but he hasn't give him such a wild ride since then!

Not Good News

I'm sorry to be posting this, but since I posted that I was pregnant, I feel I need to. I have had four ultrasounds in three weeks, but the baby has been measuring at 6 weeks for two or three weeks with no heartbeat, so we're going to lose the baby. My body's not getting the message because my uterus is measuring at 12 weeks. She said it could take up to three to four more weeks for my body to get the message and the larger the uterus is, the more I will bleed when the baby does pass on its own. The doctor scheduled me for a D & C this Thursday at 11:30 am, so please think of me/pray for me on that day.

Mr. Stretch Pants

A lot of times Gavin uses the sign for "more" to mean "want." He brought me a pair of his jeans and signed "more" to me, so I put them on because he wasn't wearing any. This time he brought Daddy a pair of Matthew's sweat pants. I told Daddy they wouldn't fit because they are nine month size (he is wearing 24 month and 2T), but he managed to put them on Gavin anyway. Gavin was very satisfied with himself.

Look at Mama!

My mother was cleaning out her house and gave me things from my childhood which included old trophies and pictures. Gavin found Mama's framed picture with one from every school year and was looking at it.

Big Boy!

I can't believe how much Gavin is learning lately. He's added new signs to his repertoire that include shoes, please, water, and cereal. He also can drink from a straw cup now (we're trying to move away from sippy cups except in the crib). He also can drink from a big boy cup and is beginning to eat with a fork and spoon relatively independently.





He is eating with his right hand, but he also has done it with his left. He is still pretty ambidextrous.

"Who turned out the lights?" We think he can still see because he still tends to walk around like this. Must be looking down.

Daddy builds a "card city"

We took Gavin's letter mat into his bathtub with some dish soap for a cleaning. Daddy built what looked like it was trying to be a card city. He went to take a picture of it and caught Gavin in the act of destroying the city.

Happy Halloween!

We dressed Gavin up to go trick or treating at Daddy's work yesterday afternoon. He and Matthew looked so cute together, too!
