Playing Catch Up

I still have more to do, but I'm out of town right now. Hope you all had a great Christmas. Christmas pictures and more to come!!!

Santa came to town!

Last year Gavin was so good on Santa's lap, but this year this is what he did...

It's Snowing!!!

We are so Cal residents so snow is a big deal. This was a snow day at a local church in our area.

He actually touched it!!!

He hated the the sled ride!!!!

The church had a bubble machine set up so it sprayed bubbles that looked like snow. (They were similar to the kind that you wash dishes with.)

I love the next two shots of Gavin and Philip.

Yum. Popcorn!

The family all together.

Aquarium Trip

We went to the aquarium a couple of weeks ago with Matthew and his mom, Dori.

Merry Christmas!

The birds loved Miss Dori! She had food!!

Caught a bird in action!!

Gavin loved the touch pond! (Mostly because he could play in the water, but I think he was interested in the animals, too.)

Gavin loves to push his own stroller now.

I tried to get a picture of Gavin looking at the sea horses, but he was too fast for me!

Gavin tried on a cute penguin hat!

Making a Splash

These are some older pics that I got off my mother's camera that I took at her house last June. They are first one is a pretty good action shot and the last four are in succession because I was using the sport feature that takes quick photos and action shots. I thought this sequence was funny.

Ladybugs and Bunnies Ahoy!

During the cleaning expedition the other night I also found some things that I thought, hey, I should be using those! Jessica pointed out that I should use one of the garden flags that I have (that I had been saving "for when I have my own house"). So, today, I decided to put out one of them in the garden and hope that the kids don't kill it. Jessica had also suggested, and I thought it was a good idea to put out a rabbit I had painted while in the young woman's program and a coil pot I made while in my art class for future elementary teachers in the garden. Yesterday Gavin found the bunny and took it onto the trampoline with him. He jumped around with it for a while and then dropped it on its side. Today he went back on the trampoline, set it upright, and then went off on his merry way to jump. The bunny is a gorgeous shade of robin's egg blue (which I love!), but looks awful on the bunny so I thought it wouldn't look very cute as a decoration in the house!

Reindeer Slippers

Aunt Staci gave Gavin a pair of Reindeer slipper on Thanksgiving that he didn't seem very pleased about wearing at the time. This morning I decided to try them on him again and he didn't seem to mind them this time.

Cleaning Out

When people come over, I sometimes mention how I need to get rid of some of the clutter (because I'm self conscious and it bothers me), but I procrastinate doing it as a lot of people do. I was outside talking to Jessica and I mentioned that I had four boxes of knickknacks in the closet and how I just need to go through them again. She mentioned she wasn't busy right then and so I said, "Hey, mind if I go get a box and help me go through it?" She didn't mind, so I went and got one. What started off as one, ended up being all four of them with a brief dinner break. I also went through a couple of scrap booking and craft boxes as well. Now I have more room in the closet since I got rid of two of those boxes, plus one from Gavin's closet. Now Philip and I need to go through two boxes of our stuff in our room that will hopefully go in that place in the closet and we are going to get rid of the desk in Gavin's room. Hey, anyone need a desk? Jillian benefited most from the cleaning expedition, she got art supplies, stationery, a necklace, etc.

They all had fun with a couple of candles that I gave them, here is Michael having fun with one of them, but not so pleased at the same time that Gavin is under his stool. Gavin wants to be close to people and doing what they are doing, of course!

Here is Jill using some markers that I gave her.

Trampoline Time

As anyone who has seen Gavin play in the backyard knows, Gavin LOVES the trampoline. I just took this video so that you can get an idea how good he's getting at jumping by himself. It's amazing how much and fast they learn! He climbs the ladder and lets himself in, he sometimes even zips the net closed!

Backyard Helper

Too Cool

Doesn't Gavin look so cool in these pink sunglasses we found in the backyard? He certainly has the "I'm so cool." look down!

Creative Boy

Gavin and I went for a walk with a friend of mine on the hill this morning. I had left his snack trap and a straw cup in the back seat with him. As I changed lanes I looked over my should and saw that he had invented his own handled straw cup.

Poor Baby

Last night Gavin was SO whiny, he wouldn't stop crying. He also felt hot, but I wasn't sure if it was because he was crying or something else. At around 7:00 he put his head down on the couch and settled down. He fell asleep in that position, with his feet still on the floor. I moved him so that his full body was on the couch. When Daddy came home 20 minutes later, we decided to take his temperature. We did it under the arm, so it's not quite as accurate as other ways. The only thermometer I could find was in Celsius, Philip did the conversion in his head (and added a bit because it was under the arm) and his temperature was 100 or 101. We gave him ibuprofen, changed his diaper, and put him to bed. By morning his temperature was more normal. This is the first time he's had a fever at all. We think it could be tooth related. He still doesn't have all of his molars yet.

Doing the Wii Fit

I was doing playing the Wii Fit, which includes a board that you stand on in order for it to weigh you, test your balance, do Yoga, strength exercises, etc. Gavin always wants to do what we are doing, so one night we had it weigh him and get his Wii Fit age (which was 9, by the way, hahaha!) Anyway, so I was playing the Fit yesterday and Gavin wanted to be included. So, he crawled in between my legs and sat down on the board! I took these pictures from above. I thought it was funny. Oh, and FYI, I still played some balance games on with him sitting there and even got my best score on one of them!

This is what the board looks like without anyone on it.

You can just barely see the board under us.

Car Guy

Gavin loves cars and strollers, basically anything with wheels. He still even likes to ride in the big orange cars in the backyard. Gavin has finally figured out that he can move the cars, but can only do it backward. One day when he was out in the backyard with his Dad, he moved the car backward into the ladder. He turned around and looked at it and honked the horn! I really don't use my horn much, don't know why he decided to do that!
