After Christmas Projects

Philip did one of the crystal projects with Gavin.

Food Storage Organization

Handprint and Footprint Painting

I got this idea out of a family fun magazine and finally got around to doing it at the end of summer.

The "before" with cotton muslin.

Gavin helped me use white primer to paint it.

Then we did rainbow colors of handprints and footprints.

Red.

R + Orange.

I had to take a close up of Colin's poor little feet.  You can clearly see why he needs his braces!

ROYGB+Purple.  All done!

Then I puffy painted their names on in black and used a finishing coat.

School Projects!

It's been a while since I have posted any school projects.

Included in the picture is a bird's nest (in the bowl), paintings, an Easter egg, a tooth (they learned about the dentist) and the letter project that cracks me up: L is for lentils!



This robot is SO cute, I think! LOVE it!

Gavin School Projects

Gavin made some more cute holiday crafts at school.



This project came home and the rick rack had fallen off. I wasn't sure where it went because there was glue in a couple of spots (you can see that there are a couple of glue spots with nothing) and so Staci suggested that I ask Gavin and he showed me! He has been making a lot of progress in language development since he began preschool in September.



Gavin brought home presents for us from preschool. I thought that that was a cute idea for them to do. We don't know what's in them yet, we are being good and waiting until Christmas to open them.

I am assuming that this person is supposed to be Gavin. The curly blond hair is definitely appropriate. Too cute!

Preschool Projects

I am thinking that this apple project was from last month, since that was the theme of September, but it just got sent home and is still cute.

Preschool Projects

It's been fun seeing what kind of seasonal projects Gavin has been bringing home from preschool. There is a dual purpose on taking pictures: I can share his projects with you and I don't have to keep them all to remember them!!!

The white paper says that Gavin used the glue stick all by himself! He's learning so much these days!

Preschool Fun

(I think) Gavin is having so much fun at preschool. He never says a word about it, even if I ask direct questions at home. I have only gotten him to mention Aunt Staci, Josh, and Layla who he rides to school with and home everyday.

This particular morning Gavin was excited because I told him he could take something to school with him. It was his turn to share something at during sharing time, so I let him choose what to take. Three guesses as to what he took and the first two don't count. I actually let him choose, I showed him an An Pan Man book, Lightning McQueen car, and Thomas. At first he put both Lightning and Thomas in the bag, but then when I told him that he could only take one Thomas won hands down, no competition, of course.



Here is one of Gavin's works of art, he was able to tell me both circle and blue when looking at it (and if I recall correctly he "buggy" as well), and he also added "toot" (cute) when we were talking about it.

Preschool Update

At Gavin's preschool they sent home a "family square" for each of the kids to make at home with their parents. We were supposed to put however many family pictures we wanted and then decorate however the child wanted to do. I had previously bought some pom poms and googly eyes, but I also got some sequins to add to my craft collection and use for this project.

Putting on some sequins. Oh, and let's not forget that he calls stars "twinkles" most of the time (although he can tell me it is a star when I ask as well). He also tries to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Rock-a-Bye Baby with me and or Philip when we see it in one of his books. I think it's so cute and we'll have to get a video of it one of these days.



The orientation, (once again) is off on this picture, but you get the idea. I added a picture of Gavin by himself in the upper left hand corner that I will replace with a new family picture after Colin comes to join our family. The majority of the school year, after all, Gavin will have a little brother. (Notice a few of the pom poms have googly eyes, he was copying what I had used for a prop during a sharing time at church I taught.)



Gavin also brought home another art project today. They have been learning about and tasting apples this month. I asked Gavin what it was and he said, "apples." Then he added, "cute."
