Nativity Fun

We bought this set for the kids to play with. I figured it would be a good teaching tool for the Christmas story that they can enjoy for years to come.

Sunday Best

Gavin and Colin got new suits to wear on Christmas and to church until they outgrow them. :-D They wore them for the first time to church yesterday.

Philip loved the rolling eyes in his sleep. He thinks that it is creepy when he sleeps with his eyes open...

Chicken Rock

Gavin and Daddy hanging out outside. Gavin was playing in the garden, saw one of the chickens nearby, and decided the chicken really needed a rock. This is just the part I managed to get on camera.

Creative Writing

Gavin took it upon himself to be his own entertainment this morning while Philip was making pancakes and I was still in bed with the baby. Good thing salt is cheap.

Right after the pictures, Philip stopped Gavin and cleaned it up. Even though we don't encourage things like this, it did make for good pictures.

Baby Gavin

Once again, Gavin was pretending to be a baby; he got into the stroller, laid down and put on the blanket. Colin is the one that uses the stroller now, I now have Gavin walk unless I am trying to get exercise (then I use the double jogger). Having him walk is my attempt to keep Gavin entertained as well as tire him out.

Listening to Daddy's IPhone

Gavin's usually a cautious child, he doesn't even like putting the telephone to his ear when someone is talking, but apparently he likes music because he actually listened to some music!

Gavin School Projects

Gavin made some more cute holiday crafts at school.



This project came home and the rick rack had fallen off. I wasn't sure where it went because there was glue in a couple of spots (you can see that there are a couple of glue spots with nothing) and so Staci suggested that I ask Gavin and he showed me! He has been making a lot of progress in language development since he began preschool in September.



Gavin brought home presents for us from preschool. I thought that that was a cute idea for them to do. We don't know what's in them yet, we are being good and waiting until Christmas to open them.

Play Doh

A friend of mine gave me some "big boy" toys for Gavin to use only while I nursed the baby during the day by myself. We tried it out while Philip was still home and Gavin decided that he really liked it and took it upon himself to get out the Play Doh on his own.





Here Gavin is playing with it on my first day by myself last Monday. He also thought that the baby's car seat made a great seat for him. I had to put a stop to him going in the car seat after this because he started using it as a rocker.

Cosleeping

Gavin wanted to "sleep" next to Colin while he was in cosleeper on my bed.





Gavin sometimes likes to pretend he's a baby. He climbed into Colin's cosleeper and pretended to suck on the pacifier.

Bottle Time!

We tried several bottles, but the one Colin took the best, of course, had to be the weirdest one. It's called "Breast flow" and it's supposed to be similar to nursing. I have already been out a few times, I saw the New Moon twice with different friends and Philip and I went to his work party.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Gavin still doesn't quite get all the fun of Christmas, but he's getting there. He "helped" me decorate the tree, but really, it was basically me doing all the decorating.

Gavin liked putting this bear ornament in the cup for some reason...



Here he is showing the ornament again. You can see my name and the year 1982 on the bottom. My mom has given us an ornament a year since we were born so that when we moved out we'd have something to put on our tree. This ornament was from the year that I turned one.



Here is the completed tree. Philip and I made the popcorn garland. How do you like my $1.69 star on top of the tree?
