Moving on up...

...through climbing, that is! Colin can now climb the four rung ladder on the play structure and LOVES to go down the slide.  It's all about the motivation!

Yay!

Lucky Daddy

Philip got another birthday cake!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all of the mothers, aunts, and those who work with kids had a great one!!! Philip made me food that day, including an omelet and dinner for my parents and me of chicken katsu (fried Japanese style chicken). Yummy as usual! Thanks, Philip!

Gavin brought home another present from church that included these bits of paper and plastic that my kids (and Philip) thought it was so fun to play with!

My Mother's Day presents this year included cute cards, candy, and bath salts with a candle. So nice!

Randomness

After the field trip I put Colin down for a LATE nap.  He didn't want to sleep, it was past the point of no return.  I left him there for a little bit, but then went in and saw he had put on a necklace of mine that was on my nightstand near the playpen.  Made me very aware that he can get to things near the playpen and I will have to be super careful what I leave there from now on.  I thought that this necklace looked like bling on my little boy!

Colin thought looking through the oven door to their kitchen was fun and I thought it was cute!

This is completely random.  I found this when I was picking Gavin up from his old preschool one day.  It's a piece of bark (that at the time was in one piece) that I thought looked like a seahorse.  What do you think?

Field Trip!

Gavin's preschool class went on another field trip! This time it was to go ride the train at one of the local parks! Gavin loved it, of course!

Went through a tunnel that doubles as a shed to keep the train.

Colin had fun crawling around in the dirt!

They also had a bounce house that Gavin played in!

He also rode the train without me--with some of his friends!

There they go!

Bubbles!

Again on the train!

Hi, Josh!

They sang the moms a song! So cute!

Then they gave the moms their Mother's Day gift! So sweet!

It was a good day, thanks to Ms. Lara and all who helped organize it!

Gavin also did a craft where he decorated a frame that day, they put in a picture of me and Gavin from that day, so awesome!

A PT Session with Ms. Karsti

People have been asking what Colin does in a physical therapy session (I also thought I needed to get pictures of it since he does it so much) and Ms. Karsti is a part of our lives now since he does therapy twice a week with her since January.

She was having him do sit ups, basically, to get toys.  It's all about the motivation.  If he's not motivated, he's not doing it.

Gavin sometimes goes with us to the clinic (it's now once a week at home and once a week at the clinic) and he plays with different toys to keep entertained.

Practicing reaching for things and then righting himself.

He was squatting for toys, but being a total cheater about it.  He knows how to do the least work possible!

He loved climbing the stairs here for this musical toy.

He was rocking out to the music!  Check out the head movement here!

Gavin playing with another toy.

Colin loves the peg toy, he's really good at it, too.  He did this exercise well!

The last thing he did in this session was use the walker for his walking.  Philip thought it was really cute seeing doing it.

Each session of physical therapy is different, but hopefully you get the idea!

Big Boy Colin!

Petting the bunny!

Big boy climbing the ladder!

Drinking all by himself!

He stacked up all his dishes, but, of course right after this he dumped them all..
