The Beach while Waiting

The day that they filmed the TV show, Dexter near swimming lessons, I got to the pool ridiculously early because I was afraid of what the parking situation was going to be.  It turned out it was no big deal, so we had a lot of time to spare, so I took them to the nearby beach and let them play a little.  

Colin had some serious crack going on!  He thought that he should throw sand into the water, for some reason as well.  

Last Beach Day of the Summer

We went to the beach one last time before school started.  Philip is in his business casual clothes because he was supposed to get called into work, but then the report he needed to do his work was not ready yet, so he went to play with us!

I was trying to do a self portrait of Colin and me, but it didn't work out quite right.  I still think it's kind of a cool picture, though.

Day at the Bay

We had a morning with a few friends at the bay.  

Biking to the Beach

I decided to try biking to the beach with my boys.

Filled to the brim!

Two days later I biked again with my friend, Sarah, and a friend's son.  We brought our lunch this time.  

Sarah figured out a fun way to help Colin float around.  

They had fun playing in the sand!

He threw sand on himself, classic!  He always manages to do that at some point!

More Beach and Paddle Boats!

We did another beach on Lake Tahoe. This time we brought our kite and did paddle boating!

After all that, a good nap was just what the parents ordered! Love that he's wearing his hat!



Gavin got in bed with us the next morning and he really seemed to actually fall back asleep. It was nice having such a big bed!
