Rice Brow

Philip thought that this was really cute of Gavin with a piece of rice stuck just below his eyebrow.

Philip was so proud of taking this picture. Cute, isn't it?

Multitasking

Gavin has figured a way to play with his car and read at the same time!

Lasagna Mess

Going on the Swings with Matthew

Neither are really good shots, but you get the idea.

Driving with Matthew

The other day I put Matthew in one of the cars in the backyard and Gavin tried to push him out. I went to get the other car for Gavin and it was a temporary distraction where he played for a little while. He still tried to push Matthew out of the car a little while later. Matthew didn't even have the car with the horn. Kids (and even a lot of adults) always want what they don't/can't have, even if what they have is the same or sometimes even better than the other person.

Want to see some HORRIBLE photos of me and Gavin?

I just got an e-mail informing me that the pictures from the 5K Gavin and I ran two weeks ago were available online. I look TERRIBLE... apparently I make some really contorted faces when I run! (I guess I'll have to work on relaxing my facial muscles, hehehe.) I just thought I'd share because it's still cool to have pictures of us online and I can say, yes, I indeed completed the 5K running with Gavin!

We Ran a 5K!

Gavin and I ran a 5K on September 13 with Dori, Matthew, and her oldest son as well.

Here we are after the race. Our time was 30:36 with a pace mile time of 9:53. The race was a total of 3.1 miles. Our next race is this weekend: we are running a 5K, it's the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure! If anyone wants to donate (and by no means should you feel obligated because your my friend/relative) here is the link to my donation page. We are running as a part of Philip's work team and his company will match donations! Just hoping to improve my time!

Outdoor fun! 2

Jessica was doing more flood irrigation and Gavin found the running hose. He thinks that playing in water is the best thing!

Gavin had been in the solar shower (one of Jessica's projects) and I was going to try to get a picture of it, but then (of course) he moved when I grabbed the camera!

I didn't do anything special to this video: it's just of Gavin playing in the water!

Swinging with Cousins!

More Blackmail Photos!

One of his favorite things to do lately is go into my bathroom and pull all of the hair accessories and other things off of the shelf. This time he went and got my makeup bag (yes, I do own makeup, even if I don't wear it often) and emptied it. I thought it would be funny to put some makeup on Gavin, so I did.

Kisses from Mama!

He thought that this mirror was the best thing in the bag!

Hugs!

Gavin quite often tries to give Matthew hugs and kisses! Here is one of his attempts. He really wasn't just mauling him, even though it kind of looks that way. Gavin and Matthew have also held hands in the car, but I have yet to get a picture of that. I'll do my best to get it on camera!

Sweeper Boy

Gavin has shown interest in the broom before, so we got him one of his own. He doesn't get how to use it yet, but we think he like it pretty well.

Also, we are looking to buy Gavin a little kitchen, you know with the stove/sink/refrigerator, so if you see a gender neutral one, please let us know. It's going to be his Christmas present! (We already have dishes/pots that we are saving for him, so I'll get the kitchen and probably some fake food for his big present.) Thanks!

Still Swimming!

It's still been warm here, so the kids occasionally go in the pool after school. On this particular day, Uncle Jon was in the pool and he was kind enough to take Gavin in so I didn't have to change into my swim suit.

Uncle Jon was alone in the pool, but a couple of the other kids decided to join in after Gavin got in.

Spatula Boy Again

He really does love them! Take a look at the ancient spatula he found when he emptied the drawer of all its implements. He loves to go through the drawers and pull stuff out!

80's Boy

Doesn't it look like he's wearing leg warmers? Gavin really wanted to put on Daddy's socks the other morning, so we helped him. Funny, huh?

Outdoor fun!

Gavin just LOVES to play outside now! He now wants to be outside as much as I'll let him and he often cries when I pick him up and take him back inside! Aunt Jessica is even making a garden bed for me so that I can work on gardening while Gavin plays. Soon I'll help her with the soil after the bed is done. We'll see how the gardening goes, I really have no experience. But, it'll be good to try it out. I hope my thumb's not black!

Now that Matthew is around and there is only one baby swing, I put Gavin on the big boy swing and he's doing just fine on it! I just have to watch him closely because he doesn't give much warning when he decides he's finished!

He sure knows how to relax!

Yum!

He's been really getting into eating with his hands so much more so than before! Do you like how he has taken one bit out of each of the raviolis? What a goof ball!

Visit with Great Grandpa

Gavin and I went with Grandpa to visit Great Grandpa (his only remaining great grandparent) a couple of Saturdays ago. He celebrated his 92nd(?) birthday the following Monday after our visit. He lives in a beautiful retirement home, complete with a large fish tank, a lovely garden, and even a koi pond. His bedroom window even has a view of the koi pond outside. If I ever need to live in one of these places, I hope it's as nice as this one (please remember that, Gavin!)

He LOVED Great Grandpa's "legs."
