G is for...

Gavin!

Like his special "G" pancake? He recognized it as a "G" right away! Thanks for the idea, Aunt Staci!

G is also for green grass glued in a "G"!

I found this workbook in the dollar bins at Target (love them!) The funny thing about this page is that each of them can be a "G" (but Gavin called the goose duck, so I went with that and he called the goldfish just fish, so that's what I went off of as well.) The book came complete with stickers and I let him choose one. Look, he picked one with the letter "G"! Groovy!

The Rise of Panda

Mr. Bear has been replaced by Panda! Gavin's great grandmother made the panda and it has been sitting on the shelf since before he was born. He finally noticed it and wanted to take it down. Pandas are among his favorite animals. He seems to love pandas and cats. He wanted Panda to sit with him at the table and then wanted to take him for a walk.

Nine Months Old!

Colin is nine months old already! His personality is really starting to come through. He is mostly contented to do the same old same old in that unlike some of his peers, meaning he still just wants to hang out on his back. He hates being on his stomach and will flip right away to his back. No crawling or trying to crawl yet! He is starting to sit up more reliably now. Just in the past couple of days we have been able to get him to sit for longer periods on his own. When he is done, however, he makes it known and lays down however he can! He loves to grab whatever he can while you are holding him and it usually goes straight to the mouth. He also loves to play with teething toys mostly, since he is such an oral kid that they always go in his mouth, although, I have seen him playing with the tags on toys as well. He also has his first two teeth that are still making their entrance. We have yet to get any good pictures of them, though. They will make for a great smiling shot when we can get it! He also LOVES to eat as I have posted before. I didn't have any food for him this last week when I ate at a friend's house and she made him some instant oatmeal. It was apples and cinnamon and she made two packets. He ate it all down, plus a couple of bites of yogurt! This child is going to be all about the food, hopefully he will stay a great eater! We have yet to have his well check, it's one week from today, so I will report back then.

He was having fun with his tongue the other day!

Hanging out with some cousins.

He decided he was done (or perhaps just lost his balance) and plopped his head right into Brooke's dessert! So funny!

War Wounds

During my 9 mile run last Saturday, I caught my toe and came crashing down, but caught myself with my right hand.

DON'T LOOK if you have a queasy stomach. (Although in picture, I think it doesn't look too bad.)

I managed to pretty much save my knees...

...but at the cost of my hand and scraping my phone that I was holding in the same hand. Oh well, not much I can do now...!

Silly Colin!

Like Colin's green beard? Who knows what he is thinking. Cute though, I think.

Silly Pants!

Gavin went to nap without any pants. He came out a few minutes later, putting these 12 month pants on, asking for help! Skinny mini here actually managed to get them up and on!!!

A Japanese Festival

We went to the Obon Festival at a Buddhist Church.

We pretty much only had time to eat dinner. Gavin latched on to the Spam masubi!

Colin sucking his thumb!

Philip has other cute pictures to add of Gavin, so I will have him post them soon!

Relaxing...

...in his sleep!

Gavin's Antics

Classic child mischief!

We got this cute barn toy chest from a friend of ours that Gavin thought was fun to play in! Philip took these cute photos. I see you!

Gavin was using a pastry brush as a broom...

Down by the Bay

We haven't done much beaching this summer, but we managed to make it one day with Aunt Staci and a couple of cousins. We got a rare treat with a seal that was making its way back into the water.

Aunt Staci and Sage helped me out a lot with Gavin and Colin, thanks!

Argh!

Gavin is having nap issues- he is only taking one about half the time. The other half he ends up sleeping in the car or in the stroller on one of my runs. This time he was SO TIRED he fell asleep in the car, woke up just long enough to get in the house, then went back to sleep on the couch! *sigh* if everything stayed the same, I guess we would get bored!

More Cutie Colin

Love Colin's funky pacifier pose!

Getting my first two teeth on the bottom!!!

Goofy boy!

I was trying to be artsy with our feet, I don't think any turned out really great, but this was the best one, I thought.

C is for Cat

We are continuing Hooked on Phonics, but not ask often as I would like to do.

Making "C" with his body.

I am going to be starting a note book of the letters we do, so that he can look at what we have done together. That means I have to prep two pages for each letter. That is why I have been moving so slowly through the letters...

Pancakes, Yum!

Colin tried pancakes for the first time! He LOVED them. This boy can eat! He has tried various table foods ground up. He even liked an enchilada casserole that my mom made and spinach ravioli. The only thing he didn't seem to like so far is spaghetti! Will keep trying new foods. He LOVES TO EAT!

Shove it in!!!

More Knott's Berry Farm

We went back to Knott's Berry Farm after a nap and an early dinner. This time I took him on a couple of other rides besides the trains.

Sort of got a picture of all of us in the mirror of the carousel.

He went on Woodstock's airmail ride as well.

Going up!

Didn't like it at first...

...but he kind of warmed up to it and went on it three times in a row, I think!

One last ride on the little train and then off to home we go. We left at 8:00 in the evening, it was a good and full day!
