Family Fun

I didn't have the camera with me all weekend, but we had family in town and did a couple of fun things together over the long weekend.

One of the things we did was to go have dinner together at Ruby's. It was fun and the food was delicious.

Philip and Gavin with the boats.

The kids' menu/entertaining toy was a train with Christmas stickers. Gavin loved it, as you can see.

Colin, doing what he was doing all evening, and holding a few of Gavin's trains.

Facial Hair Anyone?

Philip decided to try growing a goatee while he was off from work. What do you think?

Big Helper & Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Colin screams bloody murder nearly every time I change his diaper (including in the middle of the night, which I am sure Philip loves and I am sometimes afraid he'll wake his brother). This time, Gavin was trying to help calm him down. He was trying to give him the pacifier and he got down low (like I do) to shush him. He also tried to tickle him in what I assume to be an attempt to cheer him up since he loves to be tickled and giggles like crazy. Sometimes when he's trying to give Colin the pacifier he'll even tell him to open (or other things he tries to give the pacifier to) because I do. I know that Colin doesn't understand yet, but Gavin doesn't know it yet, so it's so cute to see him copy us. He's at a really fun age right now. He's also a parrot, so we have to be really careful what we say around him now.

I know this picture is kind of blurry, but it shows the chubby cheeks and I think it's so cute when he sucks on his pacifier.

I tried to get Gavin to wear his fall necklace, but he wasn't having any of it.

So, I took a picture of myself wearing it.

Gingerbread House Making

One of the grandmas gave us a gingerbread house kit on Thanksgiving and this year Gavin was interested in it a bit. He was mostly interested in the candy, however, since he is beginning to understand what it is now. Philip and I did most of the decorating.

Here is one of the construction shots. Philip put it together for us.

Here is Colin's version of helping out these days.

The after shots. We didn't get too crazy with it, Gavin doesn't have a very long attention span and mostly he wanted to eat the candy.

Multitasking

I thought this was a funny sight. I gave Philip the baby to look after for a bit. I think I went to rotate laundry or something.

More Blackmail Photos

It's been a while since I have taken any pictures of Gavin in this category. He was playing with Philip and a couple of his cousins on the trampoline and Jillian's hair bow came out. Gavin asked Philip to put in hair, and he obliged. Philip thinks that he makes a better "girl" now than when I put him in a dress when he was less than a year old. What do you think?

Love the look on his face in this one. I think it's a great picture!

Shoe Boy

Gavin's not as interested in shoes as he once was, but Philip thought that this made for a funny picture. Those are my shoes and Philip thought that maybe Gavin's feet were cold. He was watching tv one morning and doing this.

Star Wars Action

We thought it was funny that Gavin incorporated the Star Wars characters into the world of Thomas the Tank Engine. Philip wants to show him the original Star Wars movies already.

Pacifier Boy

When Gavin was a baby he did take a pacifier, but he gave it up on his own at five months. He has shown interest in them again, however, since Colin uses one.

Here he is trying to give the pacifier to the dinosaur. I gave him the Nuk pacifier that Colin doesn't seem to like as well as the pacifiers from Mam.

So not starting this up again...this is one that Colin does use. After I gave him the Nuk pacifier he wouldn't let it go and I had to practically rip it from his mouth before he went to bed. Not really going to let him play with them if he thinks he should get to put them in his mouth. After this he has pretended to suck on them, probably because I'm encouraging him not suck on them.

Checking on Colin

Quite often after I change Colin in the kids' room on the changing table, I put him in the crib. This time, Gavin wanted to check things out. So glad that he's not regularly climbing in and out of the crib. I am very happy with our decision to move him to a big boy bed before the baby came.

Whiny Boys

I don't remember exactly what caused them to be so distressed, but Jen went outside to put in a load of laundry and both boys were crying by the time she got back. So of course instead of taking one of them she chose to take a picture. I think they are still cute. (And yes, I grew a goatee for fun since I was on vacation).

G Diapers

I received g diapers from my baby shower and I finally tried them. They work just fine. The liners get dirty sometimes when he poos (which the instructions said they might) and rarely the covers get a bit as well. I haven't had any stains on his clothes from using the diapers, though. They are also easy to flush following the instructions @ home and I have tried it as well at my brother-in-law's house without any problems. To make it easier to use them, however, I need more than the six liners that I have, since they most often get dirty and I don't want to be doing laundry as often as I have been.

Here he is in the two colors of covers that we have. I love the "froggy" belly he has.

This picture is from today, look at how chubby his face and tummy are getting!!!

"Baby Shower"

It was 2:30 am and our little boy did this across the bed from the spot and position that he is in in this picture. You can imagine how thrilled we were.

Gavin School Projects

I finally took the time to photograph Gavin's projects.

Love the Frankenstein!

Gavin apparently loves to hammer, that's how he made the smiley face.

Happy Thanksgiving and fall!

More Colin Pics

Philip thought that it looked like this picture could be posed with the way his arms were. We thought it was cute.

We went to the park and tried to get Gavin to play t-ball, so we thought that these pj's would be cute for him to wear. They say, "Dad's Team."

Love the black cat hat.

Our sweet little pumpkin.

Another cute outfit.

I love the stretching face that Colin makes.

He seems like he's going to be more of a pacifier baby than Gavin was.
