Utah trip with snow!

I went to Utah to visit my brother's family, including their newborn baby.  It snowed on us during the night and we had snow to see and play in on November 5!!!

Here is Gavin with our rental car.

My mom and I thought that the snow looked beautiful on the trees and things.

The kids played outside my brother's house together.  Colin with his cousin, Liam.

Cousins Aislinn and Liam.

Gavin in his "pirate" hat.

Colin was having a snowball fight with Liam!

Snow angel!

Look at the snow sticking to Gavin's gloves!

Here's Bowen!

Here is another video of the kids playing in the snow.

Icicles on the license plate!

Love Colin in his dog hat!  He took his nap in the car that day...

I know people who live where it snows will probably think I am weird, but I took video when I saw it snow! I don't think I had ever actually seen it snow before this, I had only been in the snow.

Snow Day!

We went to the snow day at one of the local parks.  It's one of the highlights of the winter season (and all free!!!!).  We got a book about seasons before this and at the end it shows all four seasons and asks which one is your favorite.  Gavin says winter and that he likes snow!  I am glad he was able to experience the snow at least a little bit!

In the free play area.

Snow angels!

Colin and I are second lane from the left.

Here we go!  Gavin loved it.  Philip called it a "snow slide."

Even lunch was free!  Love it!

Gavin had another go!

Thanks to everyone who made it possible and to Aunt Staci for letting me know when it was.  We had a great time again this year!

Snow!

There was a snow day at one of the local parks that we were able to make it to for a little bit.

Gavin played for a short time with his friend, Kaylee, in the snow. Look at her in her cute little hat!

My friend, Holly, took a picture of us for me, thanks!

Kaylee and Gavin played in the bounce house for a little bit. It took Gavin a while to get warmed up to it. When he finally started jumping, of course, he was out of time and had to leave the bounce house (you had to wait in a line for everything).

Here is Holly with Zackary, and me with Colin. What cute babies! Holly's husband, Jared, took the picture, thanks!

I thought it would be cute to take pictures of Gavin and Colin together afterward. Even though you can't see it, Gavin is wearing his "Little Engineer" t-shirt that has a dog on a train with snow on top.

Colin is wearing a sweater and hat set that my aunt made for me when I was a baby. I thought it was appropriate for him to wear. What better opportunity would I get to dress him in it?

Rainy Day Fun

What to do when it's raining? You have to try to get creative. Thanks, Staci, for helping me with ideas! These are a few things that we did while the big storms where here.

Gavin and I danced to music. His dancing mostly includes jumping up and down, but here is another one of his dance moves:

I wanted to get more pictures of his moves, but the camera battery died. Here is what Colin was doing while we were dancing. I was trying to entertain him with the dancing.

Gavin wanted Colin to come "cook" with him in his kitchen. He won't wear the apron, but he wanted Colin to. He put it on Colin, then went to his play kitchen and said, "Come on baby. Come cook." So cute. He thinks that Colin can do everything he can.

I tried to get Gavin to do a pillow fight with me, but he didn't get it. He told me not to hit Gavin.

He had fun laying down on the pillows, though.

He also played with some of his cousins. They were having fun with Mr. Potato Head here.

Then they had a block fight with Colin's soft blocks. He understood what was going on here, and he loved it! I suspect it had a little to do with the fact that other kids were doing it. They always seem to learn better from kids rather than adults.

Preschool was canceled due to some flooding one day during the storms and so I needed to find entertainment for him during that time. I had Gavin's cousin, Josh, come over for a play date so they could have fun together when they couldn't go outside and his mom could get some stuff done for school as well. They did Play Doh, painting with water, played in the little kitchen, and just played with Gavin's toys. I think they had a good time together!
