Rocky Beach & Pool

Grandma and Grandpa were staying at the Marriott using their time share and that, of course, included a pool, but it also included access to a private beach on Lake Tahoe. It was much rockier than the beaches we are used to but it was nice and most of the family went kayaking. I am going to have to ask Philip where he put the pictures from Grandma's camera to see if there are pictures of Philip and Gavin kayaking. I was at home with Colin napping while they kayaked.

Gavin didn't used to eat ice cream (shocking right?) but now he chows it!!!

Gavin went swimming in the kiddie pool at the time share. His hands are touching the bottom of the pool.

Day Hike

Took a short day hike with the kids at Taylor Creek in Tahoe.

Colin and I were actually there! We have proof! He's not looking too keen on the idea of what we were doing, though.

Here's an activity to teach us about water consumption that we did. They used the gallon bucket to collect water, it didn't take that long.

It is hard to see, but there is a mom and baby ducks in this picture.

There was this cool part that was built into the creek where you can the fish in their natural environment. Caught a good reflection shot of Gavin.

Blue Jay!

Settling in for a week in South Lake Tahoe

We arrived at the house where we stayed in South Lake Tahoe in the afternoon, and WOW! It was a great place for the family reunion. It was 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms on three floors with a living space on each floor. So a lot of the time the kids would be on the bottom floor playing the Wii and the grown ups would be on the top floor making food in the kitchen, or just talking and hanging out.

There was also a jacuzzi outside in the backyard. Pretty much you were in the woods. You can tell in the background of the jacuzzi shots. The kids loved it! They called it the "pool." There were lots of bubbles.

Always fun to block the waterfall and have it splash everywhere!

Colin was there, too! Uncle Richard was taking a turn with him!

We slept in the master suite with our two kids!

They had a bunch of baby supplies including a pack 'n play that had sheets, a high chair, bumbo, and a bouncy seat. It was nice not to have to pack a bunch of extra things for the baby!

Gavin slept in a sleeping bag with a mat on the floor.

This was the view from the third floor balcony at sunset.

The great traveling adventures of Gavin across the floor...he still uses a bed rail at home. These were all taken our first night.

Road Trip!

We drove to Philip's parents' house up north on our way to South Lake Tahoe for a family reunion with Philp's parents and all of the siblings and their families. We left around 8:30 at night and arrived just before 3 am. Philip wanted me to sleep on the way there but it was just so hard in the car, plus I was excited as well. After we arrived, the kids didn't go back to sleep for at least an hour (Gavin began to cry around 4 am and I went in and they were both wide awake!!!!) The next morning Philip and I were up amazingly bright and early at 7:30 am or so (and the kids as well). From there we left just after lunch to drive to Tahoe which was about 2 hours away from their house.

I took pictures of all us just before we left our house.

Silly Gavin who likes to hide from the camera these days!

My Cuties!

A fairly common sight in our house. He LOVES his comfort items!

My cuties in the crib!

LOVE Colin's foot in this picture!

I think it's so sweet that Gavin loves his brother and asks to hold him still.

Look at the adoring look Colin is giving his brother.

Gavin rediscovered this book while I was packing for our vacation and shared it with his brother. What a sweetheart!

Big Boy Stuff!

Gavin's finally beginning to understand how fun the Wii Fit games are!

Philip's been in Seattle this week for work training and here he is trying to talk to daddy!
