Making Cupcakes!

We baked cupcakes and made lemonade with Matthew and Dori and their house!

The boys wanted to juice.  Did you know that if you are hand juicing and you want to make it a little easier that you can microwave the lemons for a little bit?  It's true!  I never would have known!

Colin helped me frost one cupcake, then he started to eat it!  I guess he thought, "Why would I want to frost that if I can't eat it?" He thought eating was a part of the job!  He then ate off all of the frosting and asked for more "butter"!!!  LOL!

Dori was very prepared with green frosting, Mickey Mouse sprinkles, candy canes, nice white boxes and ribbon.  Thanks!

We gave away a couple of boxes to friends and neighbors.  It was a good time.  Thanks for having organizing and having us, Dori!

We went to Aunt Staci's house and she kept Gavin entertained with washing a pot while I practiced my flute with Sage.  He loved it, I think.  I guess I need to start having him "help" with the dishes!

I bought another set of egg molds at the Japanese dollar store. One of them included a car.  Colin immediately started making it "beep" and drive across the table!  Too funny!

Sharing!

Gavin got a marshmallow pop at school and didn't want to share, but I convinced him to.  Look how sweet they look together!

Testing during PT

Every six months, the regional center that Colin receives services through tests his abilities to see how much he has improved and if he needs to continue services through them.  They test gross and fine motor skills, receptive and expressive language, cognitive development, and self help skills.  His gross motor skills were rated at age 14 months, his self help skills at 17 months (I think this is partially because I just haven't had him do some of the things that they want him to be doing like putting on loose clothing or taking off a jacket).  Everything else was pretty much on target age or above.

Colin LOVED the scissors.  Once he got a hold of those, it was all over, he pretty much didn't want to do anymore testing!

It was hilarious!  Colin was opening his mouth when he was cutting.  He did it just one time in this video.

Sweet older brother!

Colin had been wanting to be held by me, but Gavin volunteered to rock him.  Colin wasn't having any of it, but I still thought it was sweet!

Running Team Party!

My running team has an annual Christmas Pizza Party.  Miss Dori was so kind to give my boys some quarters, thanks!

I love the iPhone, but it's not great for action shots, at least not indoors at night needing a flash.  I didn't get one decent shot, but here are the two best.

I thought it was hilarious that Matthew was sitting on Gavin's lap.  Dori reminded me that Gavin used to try to sit on Matthew's lap when he was a baby and I was watching him.  Hahaha!  That's true!  It is better this way!

Jenny's Portland Trip

Last weekend I went to my friend's house in Portland.  I have known that friend, Sarah, since middle school!  Philip stayed home with the kids.  Thanks Philip!  I got my new iPhone right before I left for my trip, so these are the first pictures that I took.  It has a feature where you can turn the camera around and take a picture of yourself!  Awesome!

Here I am in the plane on the way to Seattle.  

I had a layover in Seattle before a short flight to Portland.  I found this cute lunch set, but wasn't going to pay $16.50 for the bag + $8.50 for the silverware!  

This was in the airport.  I took a picture because Colin likes airplanes. 

I saw this in the airport and debating buying it for Colin.  I actually bought it on the way home for a "rainy day" toy.

I was being touristy.  I wanted to find something that said Seattle on it and take a picture of myself!

Here is a picture of the propeller on the way to Portland.  I couldn't see the blades with my naked eye, but I could with the camera!  

We went to Voodoo Doughnuts!  I had seen the Portland episode of Man V. Food, so I wanted to make sure to visit!  This is the Voodoo Doughnut with "blood" inside!

I don't have any pictures, but we also visited Powell's Bookstore, which is this awesome bookstore that covers a city block and is five stories.  They sell new and used books!  Sarah says you will always find at least one book you want there!

We went to a nearby waterfall. Beautiful!  It was a bit chilly, though.  The temperatures while I was there were in the 30's I believe.

Since I knew that Philip and the kids were going to the LA temple, I thought that I would go see the lights at the Portland Temple.  They didn't have any, or perhaps they had them turned off since it was 11:30 at night.

Before Sarah took me to the airport, we went to the end of the Oregon trail.  There is a monument of three giant covered wagons!

This is a horrible picture, but oh well.  We were in front of an antelope or something.

I noticed this time that the Seattle airport has a super cute small playground!  I didn't want to get to close because I thought parents might not appreciate me, without any kids (at the time), taking a picture of their kids.
