The California State Railroad Museum

Grandma has a pass to the Railroad Museum! It was Gavin's dream come true! Thanks Grandma!





Got to sit in a train engineer's seat!





Philip thought that this was so cute. There is a voice that talks to you on these phones about trains and Gavin talked back!!!

There is a play area on the second floor as well that Gavin, of course, loved!





He also loved watching the trains running in the glass case.



Before we left we made a stop at the gift shop. We let Gavin choose from three things and he picked out a mug. Then we let him choose from three colors and he chose a blue one for himself, then pointed at the green one and said that one was for baby Colin! It was so sweet because Colin wasn't even there! He was at Grandma's house napping. I realized later that they had the same color mugs at home with their names on them in corresponding colors!



We also bought a train engine and red caboose to go with Gavin's name train at home that was a gift for his first birthday.



After we left the train museum Gavin was exhausted from running around excitedly that he took a drink and was out. Mission accomplished. We had a great time! Thanks again for getting us in, Grandma!

Fallen Leaf Lake & Good Bye Lake Tahoe!

We went out to Fallen Leaf Lake in search of a waterfall. It was an interesting drive: several times Philip and I considered turning around. It was a one lane road around the lake and we had to pull to the side to let opposing traffic past many times. The family was caravaning to the waterfall and we had lost them, but the kids were sleeping in the back of the car, so we considered it a beautiful drive and an adventure to see where it took us. We got a flier from a house for sale and it was selling for over a million dollars. The lake was really quite pretty (too bad I didn't think to take pictures), I thought it was more beautiful than the larger Lake Tahoe. We eventually made it to the waterfall and everyone else was there as well.





















I decided to take a picture of the house just before we left. We had a good time there! It was a great place to have as our home base for our week long vacation in South Tahoe. Thanks Grandma!!! We had a wonderful time!

Tot Spot Fun

This walker/push toy was wooden and the alligators jumped as you pushed it. We checked the price tag in their store, it was $50! Oh so cute, but too rich for my blood!



Someone found train tents and the boys all loved them!

More Beach and Paddle Boats!

We did another beach on Lake Tahoe. This time we brought our kite and did paddle boating!

After all that, a good nap was just what the parents ordered! Love that he's wearing his hat!



Gavin got in bed with us the next morning and he really seemed to actually fall back asleep. It was nice having such a big bed!
