Painting!

Last week we used his paints that he got in his Easter basket. They are "finger paints" but I bought him brushes anyway since he usually doesn't like messy hands. I don't know that I could have gotten him to use his fingers anyway! The paints weren't exactly what I expected. They were more like a gel than paint to me, probably because they are washable.



He even painted himself a bit!

Springtime Cookies!

For a late Christmas present, a friend of ours gave me a cute springtime cookie pan that included ladybugs, of course! So, I thought that I would try them out for Easter! The instructions that came on the pan just said to use your favorite cookie recipe and bake as directed, so it was kind of an experiment on guessing the correct amount to put in. I'm sure it will take a while to get it right, but I just wasn't patient enough to do a lot that night, so I only did one batch which overflowed a little bit. They still tasted great, though!



We used a snickerdoodle recipe.

In the Backyard

Saturday afternoons when Daddy is home are the most fun times in the backyard because Gavin and Philip love to play together!

After I remembered that I need to be regular with watering, my tomatoes began to flourish and are blossoming as well!

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Gavin dyed Easter eggs at Grandma's house last Saturday. He really liked putting the eggs in the cup (but not waiting) and he liked painting with the little sponges included in the kit for the paint that came in it.













Messy hands! He hates having them messy!

Laundry Time!!!

I made sure that Philip wouldn't be totally embarrassed if I posted these pictures! When I was folding laundry the other day, Gavin thought it would be a good time to practice getting dressed in daddy's underwear! Don't worry, it's all clean. :-D









Also, in order to entertain him a little while and keep him from messing with the laundry anymore, I put a pair of socks on his hands. He thought that was great fun. He went into the kitchen and I heard the oven door! I think he thought that they were oven mitts! (Thank goodness the oven wasn't on!!!) He went around with them on his hands for a little bit.

Completely Shocked!!!

This is really out of order, but I am shocked that this happened this morning! I put in a load of laundry in the washer, then Gavin and I went for a jog. When we came home, I undid Gavin's belts and let him get himself the rest of the way out of the jogger and I went to rotate laundry. I came back and Gavin was holding what I could tell was my phone but didn't look right...







...I tried to put it back together, but it didn't work, so now I'm without a phone, since we don't have a land line. In case of an emergency, however, I'm know Jessica would let me use her land line. We don't have one of those. Philip has been wanting to get new phones, I guess now is as good a time as any and we have a built in excuse!
