More Colin Pics

We have to keep taking pictures of Colin. :-D

I wanted to take a picture of him in this outfit because I thought that the dogs were oh-so-cute.



There's even a puppy on his arm, but it's hard to see because he wasn't cooperating with me.



This set of pajamas was one that I wore as a baby that my mom gave to me not long before Colin was born. I'll have to see if I can get scans of me in the pj's, for comparison.





Thought that these dino bum pj's were so cute as well. Philip set it up so that Colin could "read" his black and white ladybug album.









Gavin got these reindeer antlers from the Christmas party at church. Doesn't Colin look so cute in them?







Here is a picture from today; I love those chubby cheeks! Gavin never had them.

It's potty time!

Gavin's going to really love these shots when he is older! Philip bought Gavin this potty book in Japanese that came with a 15 minute DVD, and he loves it! In the DVD there is a song that you sing on the way to the potty and that seemed to motivate him to want to go. Here he is looking at the book. There are several flaps for him to open and also there is a little toilet to set up in the book and we punched the tiger, who is the main character, out so that he can "sit" on the toilet. I am glad that this DVD shows the regular toilet. I like that idea better than using the little potty you have to dump in the toilet anyway. We now only let Gavin look at this potty book while he is on the toilet, so more motivation to be there... Oh, and guess what! While I was out watching a movie with a couple of friends, Philip sent me a text telling me that he was sitting on the potty and he actually did #2 in it...that is the first time he'd done anything in the toilet! Good job, Gavin!

Share w/me, I'll share w/you

Gavin has been loving blankets lately, especially this little one of Colin's. We were getting ready to go and Gavin wanted to get under the blanket with Colin...





...but as two year olds do, he wound up taking the blanket instead, since it really isn't quite big enough to share.





But, then Gavin was willing to share with Colin, he shared his favorite kitchen utensil, the spatula!



Oops, in both of these shots the handle of the car seat is across Colin's face...oh well.

Gavin School Projects

I forgot to take a picture of this Thanksgiving project.



I am assuming that this person is supposed to be Gavin. The curly blond hair is definitely appropriate. Too cute!



On to the Christmas decorations!

Trapped

Gavin was playing with me (Philip) on the trampoline and refused any help getting off because he was putting his legs down between the springs and pulling it back up, going a little farther each time. Eventually he got too far to get back up himself and his jacket prevented him from going all the way down. He wasn't upset and patiently let me take pictures before helping him up.

Cute Gavin Stories

Gavin wants to play with Colin, as you have seen in other entries. This time I had made a Lego plane for Gavin. Colin was in the bouncy seat completely asleep, but that didn't deter Gavin. He took the plane and told Colin to open his hand, (Gavin opened it for him) and then put the plane in his hand. Gavin then kept one hand on the plane and showed him how to fly it around and make plane noises. So cute, hopefully he'll continue to be this enthusiastic with his little brother!

When we eat pancakes in the morning Gavin and I each get two pancakes and then Philip will bring each of us two more. When Philip brings them I will keep Gavin's on my plate until he is ready for them. This morning I finished eating all of mine before Gavin was ready for more, so I cut his up with my fork. After a little bit, Gavin looked over and saw the pancakes. He said, "Mommy eat pancakes?" I told him I had already eaten mine and those were his. That didn't seem to deter him encouraging me to eat because he said "Mommy eat pancakes?" another time or two. Then I guess he thought maybe I wasn't eating them because I had no more syrup, so he said, "Want syrup? Say please." I wanted to see what he would do, so I said, "Please." He took the syrup and tried to open it for me. If I had let him, he probably would have tried to pour it for me. I think it's so cute that he still imitates us.

Gavin sometimes asks to hold the baby.



What a cheesy smile!



Gavin is very affectionate with Colin. Colin was laying on the ground and Gavin brought his sippy cup of milk down to his face and asked "Want milk, baby?" I explained Colin only drinks Mommy's milk so Gavin just gave him some hugs and kisses. Then, a little while later, Gavin tried again to get Colin to drink his milk from the sippy cup. He said, "Here baby, " and put the spout in Colin's mouth! I'm so glad that he's so willing to share. Keep it up, Gavin!!!

He also gave him kisses on the floor!






While Colin was laying on the floor still, he tried to cover him up with a blanket and he crawled under the blanket as well and pretended to be asleep. He told Colin, "Sleep baby."

Santa Baby

Isn't this just so cute? One of the grandmas bought it for Colin.

Not exactly a happy face, but still kind of cute.



I fed him and peace at last.

Plugging In

Gavin was putting the cords in his ears.

Peanut butter makes everything better...

...including hot dogs!



Gavin re-purposed the peanut butter on the celery we had with the corn dogs.

Colin's Blessing Day

In our church we give our babies a blessing when they are young. It's tradition for the them to be dressed in white. My mother made Colin's outfit. Thanks, Grandma!

The blanket that Colin is laying on is the one that my parents used on my blessing day when I was a baby.







Here is the detail on the vest and tie.





The grandparents have family group shots on their cameras, but I have yet to get any of them from them. I'll have to update this post when I get some of them.
