Eclipse!

We looked at the solar eclipse using NASA approved viewing glasses.  

I was afraid to take the picture straight with my camera, so I put the glasses over the lens.

We went to a birthday party in April where they had a pinata and so now Gavin thinks that is what you do for birthdays, in fact he asked me to buy Philip one for his birthday!

We had cake again the next day at Grandma and Grandpa's house!  He got a pirate puzzle and art supplies from the local grandparents.

I am still running with some of my Ragnar teammates, we are training again for another Ragnar in September!   Here we are one early Saturday morning.

Strive for the Summit Challenge!

I have a running app that is really useful that I love called Strava.  They put up challenges for people to better themselves and become involved.  I decided to do their "Strive for the Summit Run Challenge," to do 10,000 feet during the month of May.  I did it! 

Here I am one morning running up one of the hills I regularly ran during the challenge with my friend, Dori.  It was EARLY.  We would meet at 5:15 am while it was still dark so that we could avoid running with our kids in the stroller.  I would run with either Dori, Liz, or both.  Once by myself, much to Philip's chagrin.  My final overall rank was 315 and 42 among women.  I completed the challenge, but didn't go much above that.  I slowed way down in the end.  It was a great experience, though, really got me moving!

My first Angels baseball game! 

This was a fun find!  

I started sewing this top and never finished--it needs button holes and buttons.  Philip thought the print on the fabric looked like nurse's scrubs.  When I was packing I put it on and Gavin asked me, "Are you going to be a doctor, mother?"  

I can't remember why I took this picture, but I thought it was sweet.  

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

Gavin's class had a mother's day lunch at the park!  

We brought lunch for our kids, but the teachers provided lunch for the moms.  So yummy! 

Gavin had decorated me a pot and a flower on a stick.  They wrote "flower" on the chalkboard side of the flower and he picked out a flower to put in my pot.  He had also decorated a reusable shopping bag made from a green t-shirt for me as well.
