Laundry Time!!!

I made sure that Philip wouldn't be totally embarrassed if I posted these pictures! When I was folding laundry the other day, Gavin thought it would be a good time to practice getting dressed in daddy's underwear! Don't worry, it's all clean. :-D









Also, in order to entertain him a little while and keep him from messing with the laundry anymore, I put a pair of socks on his hands. He thought that was great fun. He went into the kitchen and I heard the oven door! I think he thought that they were oven mitts! (Thank goodness the oven wasn't on!!!) He went around with them on his hands for a little bit.

Completely Shocked!!!

This is really out of order, but I am shocked that this happened this morning! I put in a load of laundry in the washer, then Gavin and I went for a jog. When we came home, I undid Gavin's belts and let him get himself the rest of the way out of the jogger and I went to rotate laundry. I came back and Gavin was holding what I could tell was my phone but didn't look right...







...I tried to put it back together, but it didn't work, so now I'm without a phone, since we don't have a land line. In case of an emergency, however, I'm know Jessica would let me use her land line. We don't have one of those. Philip has been wanting to get new phones, I guess now is as good a time as any and we have a built in excuse!

There was a professional photography company at the race last Saturday, and they caught Gavin and me in a photograph.

Sailing!

Today we had the opportunity to take a ride in a sailboat with Uncle Lee, Aunt Staci, and Brooke. Uncle Lee is off this week for Spring Break from the college he works at so I think he's having a great vacation so far! Thanks for taking us out, Uncle Lee!

Gavin was bushed, probably didn't get down until after 1:00 and he's still sleeping at 4:10 pm. I think I'm going to go wake him up soon so he'll sleep tonight.

Cold boy!

Gavin was so chilly on Saturday night after his bath. He insisted on covering up. It looked almost as if he thought that his changing table would make a good bed, as long as it was warm...

I just love the "I want to be like" moments. Also love the look on Philip's face. It's his video game concentration look!

Swinging

Philip was swinging on his tummy and so Gavin thought that he would try it, too! He had fun!!!

Three-fisted eater!

How is this possible, you say? Well, Gavin was eating the leftovers of this yummy cinnamon cereal and he asked for a second spoon...



...then a third...he couldn't quite figure out how to use all three at once, but we noticed that he was trying to figure out a way to bring his leg up to the table...

Still running...

I ran a 5k last Saturday, my time was 29:23, I cut 53 seconds off of my last time from a 5k in February which was 30:16! (Oh and in case you are wondering, my doctor said it was fine as long as I've been training for it.) I believe that someone from the running team took pictures, but I just checked and they weren't posted on the team site. I'll add a link when they become available! After the race I sat Gavin in front of Elmo to watch while I showered; he decided that the wipes box would make a good seat!

Just thought I'd share our news...

I am pregnant with our second child! Yay! Baby is due November 4, we saw a heartbeat!!!

Not a whole lot you can see, but that's the way it is at such an early point.

This is from March 20. The baby is between the two +. The round thing on the lower left of the baby was the yolk sac where the baby fed from before the placenta formed.



I'm posting my eight week pregnant picture (from 3-28-09) with my 19 week picture from my pregnancy with Gavin. I think I'm the same size now as I was half way though my pregnancy with Gavin!!! Everything is already stretched out so my body's just going for it!





This is from today. I am 9 weeks, 2 days along. Still not much to see, but we saw the baby with the beginnings of arms and legs moving all around and the ever important heartbeat! I'm now going to be doing regular OB care appointments. My OB thinks I shouldn't need to worry about the baby anymore! Yeah!

If at first you don't succeed...

Try, try again. Gavin has really been trying to be more independent in the clothing department, like putting on his own socks. Last night I tried to get him to try taking off his own shirt, with little success, but then when I went in his room after his nap this afternoon, he'd had some success in taking off his sweat shirt.



He managed to get one arm out of the neck and one arm out the bottom. Not bad. (He was also making his car go "zoom!" in this picture.)

In the Garden

Here is Marilyn, one inside the chicken wire digging in Jessica's garden. She is probably the most bold chicken.

Here is my attempt at being artsy again. This is one of Jessica's pea plants that is doing really well and has both peas and blossoms. I thought the plant was pretty.







I love how they curl and wrap themselves around things.



Here is my pea plant that decided to wrap itself around an onion that was growing nearby. (Jessica's kids planted them for me and supposedly they help keep bugs away.)

Strawberries, yum!

I saw some strawberries in the store on Tuesday and they were on sale and looked so good. I bought some; they were sweet and Gavin has been loving them!!!

Shower Boy

Ever pursuing to be a big boy and just like mom and dad, he decided that the shower was a good place to fulfill that pursuit just a little bit more for the day.

Singing Time!

Gavin sings at various times during the day. Usually either before he goes to sleep, after he wakes up and he's still in the crib, or when we are out on walks. Because of this it's been hard to get a video of him doing it. His song usually sounds like a combination of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABC's (which have the same tune, but the words sometimes sound more like one or the other). This video was after he'd woken up from a nap. I didn't disturb him so I could get it on tape, otherwise he would have stopped when I got in the room, so sorry there's no visual to go with it.
