Sprinkler Trampoline
Gavin played on the trampoline with one of his cousins last Saturday with the sprinkler going underneath it and coming up to get the wet. By the time I got around to taking pictures the sprinkler was off and his cousin had already gone to change out of her wet clothes. Gavin had a blast, though! Jessica said that the kids can do that more this summer if they help her move the trampoline around so that different spots in the backyard get watered.

The other night we watched a movie with some of the cousins. Gavin sat on the couch watching the movie and eating popcorn just like the big kids. I can't believe how fast they grow up!
Strawberries in my garden!
One of my strawberry plants is going crazy with blossoms and is growing a still small but hopefully will get bigger strawberry.
Here is the strawberry. It looks like it has a bug bite and I think it got burned by the sun on the other side, but oh well. Hopefully it will still be tasty!
One other plant decided to join in the blossoming. That makes 2 out of 6 blooming so far.

Still loving...
...my bear. I am resigned to give him up to Gavin, he's loving him much more than I would. After all, can you see me carrying the bear around all day and wanting to eat lunch with him, etc?
I had been doing dishes and I came out and saw that Gavin was playing but had set up a chair for Mr. Bear to watch him play. Gavin is going after his shoes. As soon as he saw me he wanted to put them on and go outside.
He had fun stacking his counting blocks!
At lunchtime Gavin wanted Mr. Bear to eat with him.
He put his bib on him...
...and then on himself!
Aww...so cute!
He then somehow managed to get his little chair wedged so that Mr. Bear could sit on the same level as him (while I was making my own lunch), but that didn't last long. I caught the picture right before he knocked the chair back down.
I even tried putting Mr. Bear on a box so that he could sit next to Gavin and Gavin wanted to share his food. He didn't eat much that lunch!
I think we're going to have to have a rule of no Mr. Bear at the table, unless I can get him to leave Mr. Bear alone in his own chair!!!

$50 cheesecake!
There was a fundraiser auction at church a week ago and I decided to make a cheesecake for it. I am always so critical of my work but apparently someone thought it looked tasty because it brought in $50 for our youth to go to camp! I was excited (but hope that it turned out well)! The lady who bought it then gave it as a gift to the Bishop. He and his family have been around, so apparently it didn't kill any of them! ;-)

Mr. Laundry Man
Gavin was into the laundry again when I was folding it.
He stretched my shirt out trying to put it on!
He also got a hold of Philip's socks and managed to put a couple on. He walked around like that. I think he was upset, though, that he didn't have them on all the way...

Check me out!
I found this outfit at a Japanese dollar store (not for a dollar, though) thought it was cute! Had to really guessimate on sizes. This one is size 120, the biggest of the baby/toddler sizes. He's going to take some pictures in it tomorrow, we have an appointment for his 2 year photos!
STOLEN: Mr. Bear
Last seen: on Philip and Jenny's bed on Saturday, May 9. Reported stolen that morning. Spotted dining out, playing blocks, and sleeping that same day. Last seen with a blond haired blue eyed boy about three feet tall! Have you seen us?
We need to take him back and have him stitched back up.
I put overalls on his bear. It sort of hides the hole in the back.
It's true. That bear was supposed to be mine and has been for quite some time. I use it when I sleep on my side so that I have something between my arms. But who am I to come between two best friends? It's so cute. I have seen him trying to make Mr. Bear play with blocks, push down the lever on the toy gumball machine, and even kick a ball. So fun! I'm glad Gavin's found a friend. It was just supposed to be one of HIS bears!
Oh, and Philip discovered that if you hit the camera on the side you can get it to come on. Hopefully we'll be able to use it for a while longer, but a new camera is now on the list, probably for an early birthday present for me.

Gavin finally had his first haircut! We took him to the same lady, Jennie, who cuts Philip and my hair. Daddy got his haircut first, then it was Gavin's turn! He didn't cry, but he was a wiggle worm! Thanks to Uncle Jon for letting us use their camera, mine is going crazy; wasn't coming on before we left and we wanted to make sure to get pictures of this!

More Vegetables of my Labor!
Jessica told me that when I could see the shoulders (top) of the carrot, that means that it's ready to be picked. So yesterday, I finally did on my only lonely carrot. So, I pulled it out of the ground, here it is.
It was so lonely, it tried to make a friend, hahaha!
My peas are also doing well enough that I got a whole handful off of my vines.
Gavin saw them and took the opportunity to snag a couple.
He loves snap peas! Hopefully that will always be the case!
Oh and by the way, the carrot was bitter!

Let's Walk!
Yesterday afternoon I had asked Gavin if he wanted to go walking, but only put on my shoes, but didn't really make a move to leave. A little while later Gavin had put himself in the stroller! I guess he really wanted to go and was saying, "Stop messing around, mom!" Also, after his bath last night, he did the same thing, even though this time I didn't offer to take him. He requested it himself saying, "walk" and signing walk. When I was resisting, he once again got in the stroller himself and requested it some more. We went for a leisurely walk down the street while we waited for daddy to come home.

Rearranging Furniture
Yesterday I was doing dishes and Gavin was in the living room. He brought in both of his folding chairs and sat down in them in the kitchen.
Before this he brought in his colored bowls one by one, telling me yellow, blue, green, and nothing for red. We think he has trouble saying that color. We are trying to teach him the Japanese word for red instead (for now). Speaking of Japanese, he is saying more things. I read a book with him the other day that Philip usually reads in Japanese and in it they say "Good morning!" When we turned to that page he said, "Ohiyo!" (hope I spelled that correctly), which is "good morning" in Japanese. Glad to see he's learning new things! I can't believe how much and fast they learn!

Baby Update
Just had an appointment yesterday; heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time! The doctor said it that it was LOUD! I took that as a good thing. I think I've only gained about 10 pounds or so (I don't really remember what weight I started out at, hee, hee, hee!) I refused the blood test to detect Downs Syndrome and Neural Tube Defects because I wouldn't do anything about it anyway and it would only give me more to worry about. Not really much else to report. I have my next appointment on June 1st and she should be discussing an ultrasound appointment with me since I'll be at 18 weeks and they usually happen around 20 weeks. That should be exciting!

I don't have any pictures, but needed to acknowledge that Philip has his the big 3-0! We went out for sushi on Saturday night then he and a few of his guy friends went to see the new Wolverine movie which is a spin off from X-Men. On Sunday we headed to my parents' house and had dinner along with birthday cake, yummy!

More fruits of my labor!
Yesterday, Gavin was snagging peas straight off of Jessica's pea plants. He even bit one of the snap peas while it was still on the vine. It was so cute! Would have made a great picture! He loves the snap peas!
Yesterday afternoon I found a tomato on the vine! Yay!
I was also trying to trim back my wild tomatoes just a bit, so I broke off a branch that was sticking way out of the chicken wire. Then I discovered it had three tiny tomatoes on it! Too bad!!! I was so sad!
For some reason, I still only have one strawberry plant with blossoms, and as you can see it is getting ready to have quite a few. You can also clearly see a tiny green strawberry as well, I'm so happy!
In this picture, you can also see that to the bottom left of the blossom there is another strawberry in the works. Gavin and I love strawberries (and Jill, Gavin's cousin is so excited, too, hopefully we'll get a lot this season!)
